We went to this Italian-Indian fusion vegan restaurant in Brick Lane (London) by recommendation, and we were not disappointed. I do love when I go to a fully pledged vegan restaurant because I don't have to squint my eyes out on the menu. I know that everything is vegan.
We went in for lunch.
The place is small and although we hadn't booked a table we were lucky to get one. I'd say this place is ideal for groups of 2-4 people. The music was a bit too loud for my taste. But the food... Oh, the food! The smell of oven-baked pizza from the moment we walked in got us salivating. The menu is accessed by a QR code on your phone, which I think it's clever and saves paper. They also have pasta on the menu but I had my mind set on pizza. I think that what's special about this restaurant is that you can upgrade your dough with turmeric or other ingredients that make the dough colourful, but I went for the basics. I had the parmigiana and my partner had the samosa pizza.
What I loved the most was the vegan parmesan cheese. Nothing to do with that stinky vegan cheese you get sometimes. This smelled and tasted like the real thing. And the pesto sauce complimented it very well. I loved the dough as well, it felt very homemade. I had the vegan tiramisu for dessert and I was a bit disappointed: too much cream, not much flavour and not enough lady fingers, but not too bad. The prices were reasonable, so that made it more attractive.
The Indian-Italian fusion is an original twist and there were a few other things on the menu that I would like to try, so I would definitely go back!
I’m so happy I’ve found the best vegan pizza. Fresh ingredients, proper Italian chef, well sourced products and amazing customer experience. If you are looking for vegan food that feeds your mind and soul, this is the place to go/be. I would rate them 6 stars for veganism love and mindfulness
As a true omnivore, I came here with an open mind.
And this place does not disappoint.
It's not just vegan you're talking about, it's a whole different philosophy in how they approach pizza, which is very fun and (most importantly) tasty.
Wholeheartedly recommend the Bomba with a burned wheat base. I would have that any day!
